PKNY hing,
A dumb-ass question I have for you. I did a couple of conversations, they appeared fine on my PC, but when I played the AVCHD movies on my Oppo, the figures are "tall & thin". Seems to be fit to the screen. How do I config multiAVCHD to avoid this?

djaddy hing,
What do you mean by "the figures are tall & thin"?Do you mean the aspect ratio is off?
What is your original source resolution?If it is PAL, set the TV System setting under Author tab to pal; otherwise, set it to NTSC.
Anyway, could you tell me what is your resolution of the source?It will be easier for me to start from here.

Yes, I meant incorrect ratio @ the Oppo. I tired the NTSC & PAL. It didn't work.
File resolution as below:

Djaddy hing,
Your video not only have an incorrect aspect ratio, but also have an invalid RefFrames count (From the properties you've posted, I don't think this is a BD).In this case, you will need to transcode the video, which will take some time to do it.
First, you need to go to the transcode mode by clicking the Transcode button on the properties page.
Second, resize the video.I don't know the exact settings, but you may want to play with the resize and uncrop settings.Also, use the preview on the left to verify the settings (If you cannot see any preview, enable the preview function under Setting tab).Notice that the resize setting will affect the uncrop setting.Basically, your goal is to make the uncrop setting as close to 1920x1080 as possible.
Third, change the ref. frames setting to 4, B-frame to 3, and level to 4.1.
Forth, set the encoding speed (1pass, 2 passes, etc) as you like, but remember that more passes need a lot more time.

djaddy hing,
I got a question for you.Do you think if the USB cable will improve the video and sound quality if it is connected to between an external HDD and the 83?
Thanks

Based on my experiment with the WW USB cable with a HKD10 USB cable, there is a dramatic difference. Not only this, also the power cable for the HDD should make a diff. Since there is no high quality cables that exists on the mkt, these cables need to be customized. I am sure, I can do something on the power side, but not for USB.

Correction.After I checked with the program, it should be uncrop to setting instead of crop setting.{:6_147:}
Which model is your USB cable?I am thinking to get a better USB cable (<$400HKD) to use with the 83, but I don't know what to get.Do you know any following USB cables that has a high c/p ratio?
Audioquest Forest $25.00 USD
Audioquest Cinnamon $50 USD
Kimber Kable USB $50 USD
Wireworld Cable Technology Ultraviolet (USB A to B) $50 USD
Thanks

Your external HDD connection supports an AB USB connection? Mine doesn't... {:6_125:}
Based on the reviews I read, Kimber vs WW, I bought the WW UV USB (which I still have), which I quite enjoy.

So you haven't test the USB cables using an external HDD?{:6_126:}I am afraid there will be not so much different between USB cables in case of HDD read/write.The HDD read/write can have extensive error-correction and re-trying, but USB audio transmission cannot.However, at the same time, I wish there is no or only a little different between cables.Then I can save some money.{:6_174:}
Anyway, I will find a way to test it without buying a new cable.{:6_148:}
