BUGS/UPGRADE ISSUES

6. Web controller NET/USB unable to start Rhapsody 30 day trial access. Workaround start Rhapsody trial from GUI then use Web controller.

7. When receiving 'connection failed' trying to update firmware Denon technical support advises on or about September 9, 2008 owner having Comcast ISP:
     "The reason why you are experiencing the "connection failed" when trying to access the firmware update is because
    Comcast takes much longer to make the connection than the receiver will allow. The AVR-3808CI will take about 30 hops before
    it times out waiting for the connection. While Comcast takes about 40 hops to connect. Therefore the connection is never made for the download.
    We are well aware of this issue and if there is a firmware update for comcast users we will make it available.
    You can take or send the unit to an authorized Denon service center and they will update the receiver with the latest firmware version.
    The other option, if possible, is to take the unit to a friend or relative's home where a different ISP is used.
    You will be able to complete the firmware update."
    Note: Based on Denon's explanation, this issue is not exclusive to Comcast and may be encountered with other ISP's or due to your ISP's
    current network traffic conditions when trying to update. Owner reports Denon support said they are working on this issue.

8. Owner reports incorrect assigned source inputs showing in GUI configuration after update. Workaround verify source input assignments and correct if needed.



FIXED/IMPROVED

Reported by Denon USA owner the following Denon change log and are fixed in firmware 1.97 reported available October 15, 2008:

- Translation mistake in German and other languages.

- The GUI and OSD of the A/V amplifier doesn't operate correctly when the A/V amplifier is connected with "iPhone 3G".

- Improvement of the Audyssey Dynamic Volume function. (For only PAY-Upgraded models.)

8. Owner reports lost receiver settings for the currently active device (had renamed it to HDTV, changed default settings, etc),
    making only that one device reset to factory defaults. Reloaded saved configuration to restore it.
    Note: HDMI control turned ON the TV/CBL source assignment unavailable.

9. Update gets stuck and does not proceed sometimes several hours. Owner power cycled receiver using small power button to complete update.
    Note: Do not power cycle receiver while receiver is updating. Be patient, receiver can take extended period of time to complete update.



FIXED/IMPROVED

1. The 'para' remote control button (except with source NET/USB) cycles between Dynamic EQ / Dynamic Volume ON/OFF

2. GUI menu Paramters>Audio>Audyssey for changing Audyssey settings and Dynamic Volume midnight/evening/day settings.

3. HDMI control set to ON now enables powered off HDMI pass through.

4. Source select and quick select IR commands now power the unit on.

5. GUI menu OptionSetup>GUI>MasterVolume can now be set to bottom, top, or off.

6. Repeat and Random added for Music Server and Rhapsody.

7. Owner reports sound is much more rich and immersive after re-running audyssey setup.
    Note: Audyssey Dynamic EQ turned on by default after Audyssey calibration.

8. Owner reports improved HDMI operation with Sony TV.
    Note: This reported improvement may or may not resolve HDMI issues you might be having with a Sony TV.

2. Web controller Setup Menu, Information, Audio Input Signal displays incorrect format 3/3/.1 when should be 3/2/.1 as displayed in GUI interface.

3. Receiver continues to display album art image with screen saver turned on and active (4308 only).

4. When receiving 'connection failed' trying to update firmware Denon technical support advises on or about September 9, 2008 owner having Comcast ISP:

BUGS/UPGRADE ISSUES
HDMI random dropouts reported by several owners of some Projectors and some Sony TV's. The receiver will then re-sync the signal.
This occurs during playback of various sources at random times. Not a Denon only problem.


FIXED/IMPROVED
1. When stopping a radio station stream by holding down the enter button on the remote the display does not return and show folder station list.
   Holding down enter button to stop stream the display now returns to station folder list.

2. When a song is paused, browsing music server or USB folders behaves erratically. Browsing now works when pausing song.

3. When receiver NET/USB music server playback of MP3's that have UTF-16 formatted tags last letter missing of title, album, artist.
   Last letter now displays for UTF-16 formatted tags.

4. Internet radio continues to actively stream when receiver turned off (large power button, standby mode) and power saver turned off.
   This behavior is now the same for both Internet Radio and Local Music server streaming with power saver turned off.

5. Net Radio and Music server track information right to left scrolling shows up to 65 characters on receiver front display
   but only up to 53 characters on TV display before being cut off. Now same number of characters.


Reported by Denon USA owner the following Denon change log info and are fixed in firmware 1.95 reported available September 17, 2008 for 3808/4308:

- The unit does not come back to the last state of playback when we turn off the power during playback Internet radio then turn on.
- The customer has connected a "USB-Stick memory" with more than 4GB. Random-function of USB devices is not active.
- Drop-outs via Ethernet playback from PC with "Windows Vista".
- Addition of up-grade function.

2. When a song is paused, browsing music server or USB folders behaves erratically.
Should either browse correctly or not allow browsing when song is paused.
Do not pause a song and browse music server or USB folders.

3. When receiver NET/USB music server playback of MP3's that have UTF-16 formated tags last letter missing of
title, album, artist. Work around convert existing MP3's to tag format ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 using utility program such as:

6. Some owners report hearing noise from speakers during this update. This has been reported to Denon technical.

7. Sometimes sporadic video sync loss with devices when using parallel HDMI and SVideo or component connections.
This has been an issue with all firmware versions. Possible work around unplug SVideo or component connections for those devices and use HDMI only.


FIXED/IMPROVED
Reported by Denon USA owner and Denon European 4308 owner the following Denon change log info and are fixed in
firmware 1.73, Sub 00.88/1.72, Sub 00.88 reported available August 18, 2008 for 3808 and August 8, 2008 for 4308:

- Last 2-pixel cropping at 1080p.
- Several pixels on the right hand side of the image are apparently gone or have been replaced with different information at 1080p.
- Sound (DAB) is distorted extremely loudly and totally in Zone 2. (European 4308 only)

Denon AVR3808 Firmware V1.69 Update Information (April 24, 2008)

- 只需直接插上 Lan 線到網絡自動更新，一如 PS3 情況
- 如最終完成前掉線，不能成功下載，多為 ISP 網路 setup 問題，
  因香港寬頻用戶出現過上述情況，大家亦可把台機送到 Denon 服務中心代為更新

Feature Enhancements:
（1） HDMI入力のスケーリング機能の動作を改善しました。
（2） インターネットラジオ局の連続再生時における再生情報を改善しました。

奇怪的更新 ...
今天調整完喇叭後，多手利用 amp 直接檢查有無 firmware 更新，
發現又有一個 9mb 的檔案可下載更新，
照例是必照做，下載完都無發現有什麼新加功能或調整，
於是利用電腦上網睇下有乜新搞作，但竟然沒有發現全新 firmware 。
但4月30日發報呢個 update 我以在五月頭更新左，
我搵云所有網上資料都唔知更新左乜，真奇！

Reported by Denon USA and German owners the following Denon change log and
fixed in firmware 1.73/1.72 reported available July 4, 2008:

- Setup wrong translation in German.
- Problem for Tuner preset memory.
- Scroll speed of "Artist" becomes slow when playback music files with DLNA by network-audio.
- There is no direct "Tuner FM" or "Tuner AM" command (if customer issues tuner command twice accidentally,
  tuner band will change. This is an issue from an ease of use point of view)
- MVUP/down (master volume up/down) command can effect zone 2 volume if any zone 2 command has been recently sent.
  (MVUP command should only effect MAIN ZONE, regardless of what happens in zone 2. IR commands do not exhibit this behavior)
- Even when the function that allocates DENON Link is not used with MAIN ZONE, a digital signal is not output from ZONE-2 and ZONE-3.
- The disc where "DolbyDigital" and "TrueHD" are alternately recorded is play backed.
  And, when "DolbyDigital" and "TrueHD" are continuously changed, the sound is not outputted.
- When a specific stream sound source of "DTS-HD MA 7.1ch" is play backed by "5.1ch", the sound is distorted.

因為我之前見有綱友話可以把擴音機內用開之個人setup save
等update完後再load返出嚟用，唔使當新機咁由頭全部從新設定過，但我試過跟綱友提供指示都唔能夠將設定save:L
請問是否真的可以先把個人設定saveSmilies009
