The first impression after connecting xpa-5 with my 81 is more detail and more power. However, power improvment is below my expectation and i think we should give more time to xpa-5 to burn-in. The sound is still hard. Now, i use it for watching TV to reduce it's burn-in time. Surely, control and detail aspects are well improved.

1. Anytime an AV amp connects to another amp, you need to , at least, calibrate the sound pressure of all the channels. The best way is to calibrate completely again because different amp has different input sensitivity, impedance and voltage gain that bring out different sound pressure.
2. Under the same spec, you need double of the output so as to get 3 more db of sound pressure. Take an example, the sound pressure is 3 db between Parasound A51 and A52 because A51 outputs 250w while A52 outputs 125w per channel, 8 ohm.
