there are lots of posts in that Denon Teaching thread (more than 700 on Audyssey)...they go all the way to #531 until Dynamic EQ problem is sort of answered.
Conclusion, Dynamic EQ is ever changing (dynamic), varies constantly according to master volume and contents/sound track, and has a known/proven effect of overboosting the surround channels. my auto cal seems to have worked ok, all speakers (at test tone page) give roughly the same loudness. So I am pretty sure the root cause is DEQ.
In that youtube video, the guy used a spl meter to prove that DEQ boosts up surround channels by 6 Db! Many peope in the comments shared similar experience (whilst some other people still prefer to turn on DEQ as it gives overall better sound at the master volume they usually use).
