Computer as Source (CAS):
I am only a beginner @ CAS. One day, after reading a few articles online, I stole my boss' EeePC and I was playing around with it. It was to my surprise that the audio quality from the Atom CPU + SSD HDD sounded so quiet and smooth. It took me a long time to figure out how to work Asio4all, cMP & cPlay. Since the lower priced DAC has poor USB connectors, I also got a cheap USB to Coaxial Converter (under $150 @ Taobao) for testing. Surprisingly, the result is very pleasant. I guess 柴_記 G4 does a very good job.
Hardware:
EeePC > WW USBcable> USB to Coaxial Converter > Gotham Coaxial cable > DacMagic > RCA > Int Amp
Software:
I am using cMP + cPlay + Aiso4all.

CAS Software - Asio4all + cMP + cPaly
For the one of the best sounding CAS setup combos, I installed Asio4all + cMP + cPaly. This setup allows you to shutdown all of Windows background apps and loading songs from your ram.

cMP - it kills the windows shell, hence, improving the windows kernel jitter. cMP shuts down a number of windows services (wireless connections & antivirus are also shutdown). This results in better sound quality.
Note: While using cMP you cannot do anything else with the PC.
