u'r welcome. TAD is a great brand of speakers, which i mean it reach the "reference grade".

And u'r right,the room  and acoustic environment does specially affect the listening experience even more than the speaker itself.

And i am now just using  foobar2000 & SAW Studio for playing music.

In fact, I am also thinking about whether pre version or mastering version suits me better. I have been using Nuforce P9 as my pre amp for years and I am satisfied by its performance. So Mytek's pre version might be a waste to me. However, it seems to me that XLR output of Mytek should be better than its RCA and Mytek is a pro product which might match my speakers more, I might be able to skip my P9. This is really a hard choice to me.

Similar to you, I have been using a pre-amp for yeas--the model is SPL Volume 2 as u can see it in my photos.

volume 2 present a very high preformance, transparent、flat frequency response & high dynamic range.

But when i brought the mytek 192 dsd pre-amp version back, I compared its internal pre-amp with Volume 2---mytek's inner

pre-amp can be setup as bypass.

The comparison result is obvious and soon Volume 2 was kicked out. The pre-amp in Mytek sounds more detail in full frequency

range,and much more naturally, the high end extension is much better than volume 2, and the bass is tighter & more powerful.

So i can say mytek 192 dsd dac pre-amp version is a very high C/P machine. it is well worth listening to, and highly

recommended.

It seems that I might be able to save up my P9 preamp when I get the Mytek DAC. I will go to Tsang Fok for listening when I am free.

fseon, might I know which cables (Power cords and RCA/XLR) you are using for Mytek? I am using Northwire, Mogami and Sommer, which march quite well with my gears.

I just use Mogami 2549 gold for signal cable, and now i kown another great brand cable made in U.K., i think i will try it before long
and the power cable, i prefer to use professional speaker cable as power cable such as Canare , so as the cores are thick enough, haha

I am using Mogami for interconnect cable (3173) and using Apogee Wyre Eye for coaxial cable. Would you mind telling which U.K. brand cable you find great?

I used Canare's 75 ohms cables for some years. They are very fine cables at a good price.

我已经拿MYTEK 去做了全面体检，用的测试仪是著名的prismsound dScope Series III（只要是专业人士都知道这机器有多牛，差不多20W HKD的价格）。测试结果很不错，THD+N为-106dB（包括其内部前级），纯THD约为-108db，动态范围在116~~117dB，两声道在20hz~~20khz范围内的相位误差只有0.4度不到，线性度也非常好，应该是得益于ESS SABRE的优异设计。以上结果均为实测、未计权（UnWeight）。值得一提的是，这台机的内部时钟和抗jitter抖动的能力相当强悍，JITTER TEST的时候，当外部数字输入在12khz处引入一个高达30ns（=3万ps）的jitter抖动，DAC内部jitter依然被抑制到10ps以内，最厉害时可以在2ps以内，确属顶级水平
