    No problem...  My suggestion for software: go for a minimalist installation.  Start with a clean installation of Windows 7 (make sure you have at least 4GB of RAM and use an SSD if possible).  Install only the necessary drivers and software, skill unnecessary junk like Office, etc.

I have to say thanks to you two brothers.

Actually, I have already share the music folder and using a Media Player "C200" to play the file in living room.
For improvement of the sound quality, I wonder whether I should buy a cheap cheap netbook to replace C200 for music playing.
Secondly, is it very easy to set up in netbook to play the music file share from  my PC@bedroom.

Sorry that we lost you in our discussion. Technically, streaming and file sharing is different. With you C200, in your bedroom PC, if you use Windows Media Player to share your library and then in your C200 connect to that library, then its streaming. If you just share out the folder and then map the network drive, that's file sharing. But again, it may not mean too much for you. Keep it simple, try file sharing 1st.

Regarding to your C200 vs cheap cheap NB. Again, as qwe456 said, depends on how you setup your NB and how cheap your NB is, can't really forecast on whether it will be better than your C200. But since you want your NB to be used for the home visit, suggest you get a proper one so that you can really use that as a reference for your home visit tuning.

    Not sure what the C200 is, but there are some merits for using a laptop.  e.g. a new format, called PLAC (Post76 Lossless Audio Codec) comes up overnight and you want to give it a try, all you need to do is to set up the new codec if you are using a laptop, but it will be a lot harder on a media player!  With the laptop, you are tweak a lot of the parameters for your player/ codecs to see what works better, again, it's a lot harder on the media player.

But just one thing, when you buy a laptop/netbook/dedicated PC, make sure it has enough RAM and processing power.  You don't need a super fast i7 with too much computing power that requires a massive heatsink, but you need it to be fast enough that it can run fast enough and comfortably process everything.  To give you an example, I use at ITX Atom mobo for the one I built a few months back.  It's not super fast, but fast enough.  And I turned off all the unnecessary BS like Aero, desktop wallpaper, and even pagefiles...

    There's some minor technical difference.  But for practical purposes at home, they are the same.  What wally was referring earlier was push vs. pull...  Don't worry about it.  Just get a Windows box and share the files.  Try to get yourself gigabit LAN at home though.

    Wait, step back for a second.  I thought when this thread started, you were talking about your Onix DAC25 (one of the few big-name cheap DACs I haven't tried yet!)...  Can you actually use your Onix with the C200?  Another reason to consider the PC/laptop option is probably the ability to use the DAC over USB.
