for my exerience using yamaha 3800 with power amp for almost 2 year and listen z11 for many time thinking of buying it .....there's nothing special about dsp for cambridge ,its just simple ,it just give you what s inside the disc ,the most special thing was sound quality ,i will vote for cambridge noamtter what ,yamaha sound wall was special ,its like a sound wall surrounding you all the way ,especailly at scary movie ,it works really great ,but after some time playing av ,i found out may be because of the sound wall or dsp will makes the sound a little " mum" like cover the mouth even trying z11 ,i m not sure what cause this, thats why i rather want something direct in and direct out with crytal cear sound ,i mean i only want to hear what the producer did , the sound quality of yamaha was thinner as ususal japan 's sound ,cambridge was warm and thick as british sound , different taste totally ,may be some people will like japanese sound with high detail but dry ,i personally like thick and warm sound have "quality" like when u listening to some matal sound then u can feel like u are touching it ,and also if u are not planning to play with eq ,i guess the cambridge 's dynamic was better for sure ,but i guess even u play with eq still cambridge will be better as what i compare in show room .
velodyne did really well at their show room , its totally invisible but powerful ,thats the hardest part ....
