So!! To conclude all Ching's opinion, it is in general agreement that ,
1/ Sound quality will be affected by adding banana insert. It is just a matter that an expensive insert will bring less distortion than a cheap cheap insert.
2/ Some chings think banana insert can avoid oxidation of the cable.
3/ Most chings think banana insert provide an easy and convenient way to plug/unplug speaker cable.
I understand both point 2 and 3 (only true for those insert made from inert metal), but reviewing most of the design of the insert, the contact between the cable and insert is not sealed, that means cable can still become oxidate.
However, I still cannot understand point 1), If it is already a general agreement that insert will bring distortion, then why still so many peoples willing to spend $$$ for the insert.
How to interpret this idea?? I really cannot understand, would you please tell more about this?
To me, if a "good" cable need to match special insert to give "good" sound, then why the cable maker did not sell them in a whole package?
And I know people keep saying different cables give different sound even with teh same setup, in fact that trouble me as well, so I do I know I am getting the "original " sound that the producer want to record??
