Hi ching.....

I just received my bw22 for 2 days now and it’s running in. I think I have similar impression as you when I pair it with ve8 after I had a deep listen with this cable. Overall is a nice cable. Sound is bright and clean, lots of details and great separation , good sound stage. I also find the mids and vocal abit on the thin side. Maybe because with the ve8 pairing ...not sure yet until the cable is run in properly .
Hope this thin vocal and mids will be cure after long hours run in. I would like the vocal to be more thicker when I listen to this cable.
Maybe Patrick can confirm more on this.

But when I listen to post rock instrument music, it sounds great and lots of detail . The instrument placement is very good. Guitar sound is clean , drum is fast and tight.

Ching, this cable needs to run in with care to get balanced sound. Also, when you keep running in the sound will change dramatically, treble will become more sharp, bass will disappeared, mid is thin and clear. At this moment, do not use high volume, keep moderate with amp to keep high current input. Otherwise treble will go more sharp. After the transition period the bass will eventually reappears and treble will smoothen and mid will be more surrounding.

Also, my new VE8 is also under run in now. It sounds terrible in the beginning, treble is sharp with 'teeth sound', mid is not smooth and hard, bass is weak. After around 30 hrs run in, it becomes better now, keep going..

After 100 hours try to run-in a little bit more on vocal songs....VE8 mid will also improve together i guess.

Before 200 hours this cable sound is keep changing and unstable. U can depends of what u need to keep run-in the cable...My bw22 now is warmer than before

When U say run it at low volume with high gain, should I turn the volume low on my source and keep the volume high on the amp? That will give it high current and low volume. Correct me if I’m wrong please.

I currently use iPhone as source connect to a headphone amp to run in.

I have been using a run in cd to run in the cable. It’s not frequency , it use different real instruments every track to run in. Also I use normal songs with vocal for run in too.

I cannot say what is correct and what is wrong about run-in . But we can all try different ways and compare the result, run-in source, power, duration, run-in pattern, all affect the final outcome. Maybe later we can compare ours with Patrick's and mine we can see the difference. Enjoy music!

Of course and it’s diffcult to say what is right and wrong on this topic.
Just want to double check if I done anything worng base on chings experience . I’m happy to trail and error and enjoy the fun of this hobby. Also I’m open to  learn from everyone here . I’m still very inexperience in head fi.

Would be a good idea to meet up one day for a coffee and compare the sound of our cable after run in .

Just for a reference only.....after 220 hours run-in the sound is much warmer, dynamic than before and mid more texture, realistic.....The cable capability keep improving and seems the direction tends to the design before, the result is positive.
