窮人廳用CAS方案研究

好啦買完啦啦己經無晒錢啦，但係未有source wor, 由於家中己經有NAS，
而且 TV RACK 有 LAN PORT， 一直想整CAS，心目中有幾個cheap cheap方案：

1. NAS --wired LAN --> Apple AirPort Express (7xx) --opt --> DAC (3k max) --RCA --> tube AMP
2. NAS --wired LAN --> Logitech squeezebox touch (2.5k)--RCA --> tube AMP （add DAC 1year later...)

目標係出到同一部2﹣3K 山0 CD PLAYER 差吾多既質素，大家認為可行否？

QNAP has a installable qPKG plug in for Squeezebox server
you just need to install it.
It is so easy

Furthermore, Squeezebox touch need to update Chinese font
procedure can be found in web
It also so easy

    Ching, i'm using QNAP too, did u add any DAC ? how is the sound when u connect the box directly (RAC) to your amp ?

I am now connect to amp directly via coax. I am going to buy a DAC for it.
Sound is ok for me. I believe upgraded to DAC will improve sound great.

connecting to amp though coax means u using your amp(AV amp?) as DAC,
but as i will use tube amp, i need to use RCA to connect that means the box will become DAC too, could u help me try try see if the sound have big difference ?

U need to know that sound quality depends on which format u rip the music/songs
MP3 no way......
U need to choose FLAC, AIFF......
For CD player, it can only play 44.1KHz/16bits source
Touch can play up to 96KHz/24bits source

The main issue is to compare DAC quality of Touch and CD player.
For entry level, I find that many ching choose Cambridge Audio DACMagic,
PS Audio Digital Link III is another choice.

The main issue is also to compare DAC quality of Touch and CD player.
Be remember, original purpose to develop this product is to make all simple.
You can use iPhone/iPad as a controller.
They have not choose many Hi-end audio parts.
From many review from overseas web site, if you use external DAC, it can sound compare with some $1x,xxx CD player.

But upgrade Power supply will improve much more.
