ay123 hing, may I ask why you're so sure that "Pioneer/Panasonic/Hitachi/Sony/LG/Samsung etc. will not exchange for you." {:1_342:}
For Hitachi, one of our 76 members did get the exchange from Hitachi HK

For Panasonic (post #21):

Anyway, I'm not saying that Pioneer's KURO plasma is not a good product, contrary it's one of the best plasma I've ever seen today {:1_326:} . My main point is customers should rely on the distributor's after-sales service instead of individual shop.
ps. I've sent an email to Pioneer HK and still awaiting for their official after-sales support policy on their Kuro plasma.

I cannot see they have their Plasma exchanged after the testing period.I mean after the testing period, most likely they will not exchange.My previous Plasma is a Hitachi and i have to complaint to the Japan headquarter to get it exchanged.Very painful experience.Besides, a dead pixel did appear after 1 year of usage, i don't think they will exchange it even if the pixel is located in the centre, right?
The sales actually asked me not to report to Pioneer if there is dead pixel and he can help me exchange from their stock, he said some customers really does not care about dead pixel and they never check e.g. somone live in mid-level, and also my friend who lives in Happy Valley.He said they cannot see it at viewing distance and don't bother.
Well, this is only my experience.You can always think different.

I've just received my 500A, zero dead pixels so far. To be honest, the pixels are so small that you can hardly see it unless you are really close like 6-8 inches from the screen. Mine is delivered by Pioneer directly and Manufactured in July 2009 from Japan. The last production date is Sept 30, 2009, after that no more TV will be made from Japan factory.
So far its worth every penny. Even my mother-in-law and my wife can tell the difference.
Some pictures I took yesterday for sharing

Yes I purchased the ControlCal software from www.controlcal.com. It costs US$35 to activate the Kuro ISF profiles. The developer "Turbe" works with Pioneer to develope this software for professional and hobbiest like us to enable the ISFccc interface build-in to the Kuro 9G panels like 500A and 500M.
Besides the software you need a DB9 9-pin serial Female to Female cable to connect you PC COM port to the 500A media receiver.
ISF mode is great because I can have different settings for different input and each with a Day (bright) and Night (dark) settings to suit the viewing environment. Of course if you have TV calibration software like Calman and colorimeter like Spyder3 you can accurately calibrate the 500A to perfection for every input source.
