Quite useful. It not only helps you to check for validity of screen/projector position (during your planning phase); but also it includes the lumens/ftL calculation which takes into account your screen gain, screen size, throw distance, lamp hours, etc. for you to check whether a specific projector/screen/mouting setup will give you sufficient brightness (usually not an issue for a new lamp; but maybe an issue after e.g. 500 hours, esp. if your screen is > 120").
