i was suspecting the power supply to cause the problem .... just don't know how to prove

    The only way to confirm whether the problem is caused by your power is to replace it...

If you can disable the thermal sensors, don't turn them off for too long -- in the event that it's a real temperature problem, that might kill your processor in a very short period of time.

    There are IDE/SATA power supply converters...  Some of the power supplies would come with one or two.  If not, I doubt if it would cost anything more than $20.

just try to turn off CPU temp. detection from motherboard ... the problem still remian
