最早期的寶記第一批發行CD,「鄧麗君」CD中西德代表有十五週年及淡淡幽情,日本代表有.....(欠寶島第一集) ...

Hi C-hing. Actually there are more 日本代表. The compilation CDs below all have Made in Japan versions (but the photoed ones are not made in Japan ). There is one more 名曲選第二輯 which is not shown in the photo because I don't have it yet.


Buying all these Made in Japan versions now in the second hand market will probably cost 20K or more. Fortunately, all titles are available in much cheaper Made in Korea (or Hong Kong for some) versions which are digital clones (i.e. exactly the same after ripping to computer -- and I've gone for CAS now most of the time). I decided to stay happy with the Korean versions...

忘不了 Inoubliable -- the 2001 album with new songs that I bought on the first day of release. This Hong Kong version sounds much better than the Made in Japan version -- the Japan version was compressed / brickwalled to death and should be avoided.


Btw there was a rumour for years that this album will be released in LP -- but still not seeing it. Hope it's coming soon!

1:1 Direct Digital Master Cut


Quite likely that they really did a new transfer specially for these 2 releases -- I did some comparison with audio software. The sound is clear and dynamic but a little on the bright side for my taste -- very good but not perfect.

3 Box sets from Polydor Japan shortly after Teresa passed away


I got these from HMV for $98 each in around 1998 -- what a steal! 80% of the songs she recorded for Polydor Japan can be found here, but sound quality is only OK.

難忘的Teresa Tang is a very good CD. My dad got one, and it got stolen.
