The value of an old CD is not always about the sound quality.

I think a lot of the increase in value comes from people bidding up the prices.  One year ago, old Danny Chan CDs are not as expensive as today.  Of course, a CD like the Japan Sony CD pressing of "陳百強精選" will always have a high value because it was one of the earliest HK pop CDs and the number of CD pressed is relatively low.

Soundboy Hing, you're right but to me, it is not worth for that much even the sound quality of some old CDs are superb (i.e. Choi Kam Old Songs) and needless to say that those old CDs having common sound quality with low pressing quantity only.........

衹要自己喜歡便可,無須要別人認同,批評音樂的好壞很主觀,反正人言人殊,根本很難有一個標準.........隨心而行好了

I am looking at 2 HK Yahoo Auction of old Danny Chan CDs.....over HKD$10,000 each with more than 5 day left.  That's just crazy!

I heard this from friends and a boss of one CD shop told me that he had sold a Danny Chan old CD to a Mainland guy at 10K last year.......such a crazy world, those Chinese guys are really rich !!!
