yes, I tied a lot of times on us, uk and de amazon.  The staff is very nice.
But you need to send the email fast.  If they dispatched your items, you cannot combine them.

how can I know my order is combined after requested?

they will update your order in your account so you can check your new order in the amazon site.  It will have the new account number and you can save some shipping cost.
