As title.

Currently I have:
1. very old but still functioning 29" CRT TV
2. Sanyo Z3 720p projector 80" screen.

Want to buy a new TV -or- Projector.... which one should I buy?

a. 50" LG 50PK550 Plasma to replace my old old crt tv
~OR~
b. AE4000 / Sony projector... but seems all these projectors' size are bigger than my old Sanyo Z3 720p projector... I am afraid the project distance is not enough for me to project 80" screen.

師兄, 如果Sanyo Z3在同一樣投影距離可投80吋, 現在新款LCD投影機一定得....如果支幕無問題幕面平直, 我會買投影機law..

My home is marginally OK to house a 80" screen... for the new generation 1080p projector, they all are very bulky.

buy a Cheap 37" or 4x" FullHD LCD TV without tuner around HK$5000
and upgrade to FullHD Projector !

I am also thinking about this. As a flat TV will save some of my living room space! Also I have not try Plasma b4. As I am not fond of watching TV (even tv news). My viewing ratio is around 5-10% TV and 90-95% Blu-ray / 1080p HD vide/movie.

Just a little worry of the IR issue.

Sound good!!! But seems 50" plasma is more attractive! Also if I buy a new plasma, it will be my major output device for watching blu-ray and my old 720p projector will be just a standby backup machine. Moreover, Flat screen TV is more convenience than projector for my case. (I need to relocate my sofa and need to setup my projector + screen (all are portable not fix to the ceiling).

As I am viewing ratio may be 90-95% TV and 5-10% Blu-ray / 1080p HD vide/movie.So 50" plasma ok.
