正進行中的E3 Xbox Media Briefing發表會中，Kojima Production主腦小島秀夫公布作品《Metal Gear Solid：Rising》詳情。與以往《MGS》潛入玩法完全不同，《MGS：Rising》以「斬、奪（Zan Datsu）」為主題，Snake放棄潛入改用武士刀斬殺敵人，片段中武士刀乃無斬不破的絕世好劍，感覺跟《無雙》系列相近。《Metal Gear Solid：Rising》推出日期及售價尚待確定。
