Oppo does a great job and I do love them, however between the two in the different set ups I found the Pio sounded better to me (if its worth the difference in price I don't know but I thought it did sound a bit better, just a subjective opinion, but my opinion nonetheless.)
In a side by side or A/B comparison the Oppo BDP-83SE blows the Pioneer out of the water using multichannel analog audio outputs, FYI. Not saying the Pioneer is a slouch, just verifying/clarifying for you. The standard Oppo BDP-83 is on par with the Pioneer or slightly less impressive.
I just order the oppo 83 today through the web site. I guess it will arrive by the end of this week. Could you please teach me how to do the DVD and BD all codes? If i doesn't do the all code thing, does it work for the "hong goods" dvds and bds? Thank you very much.
