(CNN) -- About 16,000 flights are expected to be canceled in European airspace Saturday because of the cloud of ash from the Icelandic volcano, European air traffic authorities said.
Here are the latest developments.
-- French civil aviation authority DGAC has ordered the closure of both Paris airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, Air France said.
-- There are no flights at German airports until 8 p.m. (2 p.m. ET) Saturday, German-based carrier Lufthansa said.
-- Austrian air traffic controller Austro Control said there are no takeoffs and landings at all major airports in Austria -- including Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Graz, until 8 p.m. (2 p.m. ET) Saturday.
-- Russia's 10 international airports, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, are all experiencing flight delays or cancellations because of the ash, the Russian Transport Ministry said. Russian national railway company RZHD said it has added extra cars to trains running between Europe and Russia.
-- Belarus has closed its airspace until at least 4 p.m. (9 a.m. ET), the country's aviation officials announced.
-- Airspace over Poland is closed until further notice, a Krakow airport official said.
-- Airspace restrictions over the United Kingdom have been extended to 1 a.m. Sunday (8 p.m. ET Saturday), British air traffic control provider NATS said.
-- Switzerland has shut its airspace until 8 p.m. (2 p.m. ET) Saturday, the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation announced.
-- Denmark's airspace is closed until 2 a.m. Sunday (8 p.m. ET Saturday), according to Danish air navigation service provider NAVIAIR.
-- Australian airline Qantas canceled all flights Saturday to and from London, England, and Frankfurt, Germany, its only two European destinations. Further cancelations are likely, the airline said.
-- Belgian airspace restrictions will continue until Saturday at 8 p.m. (2 p.m. ET), the Brussels Airport said.
-- The Icelandic volcano was still erupting Saturday, according to an official with Iceland's Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management. He said it's not clear when the eruption will end.
-- British Airways canceled all flights to and from London for Saturday. Several flights from North America scheduled to arrive at British destinations Friday night will go to Scottish airports instead, the airline said.
-- Irish budget carrier Ryanair canceled all flights to northern European destinations and Milan, Italy, until Monday because of the volcanic ash, the airline said.
