I am very happy with my Marantz AV8003 pre-amp wor... not expensive at all...

    ching, in fact, i would just set 5.1 now......buying a 7.1 amp is for the upgrade in near future (i hope)......but....i don't have the approval from my boss to set 4 speakers at the back,好耐眼wow.......佢話只可以俾我前面吊櫃頂放多對, 因為冇咁耐眼
that's y i need the amp to support PIIz but not surround back......

have u tested the difference? Rarely does BDs support 7.1. More speakers dun always mean better. Especially if ur sofa is against the wall.

I tried at tomlee (presense speaker) and fortress (front height 7.1) vs 5.1 at the same time.........點講呢....可能果日個screen好高 (要抬高頭睇), 5.1 個感覺就係d 聲係曬下面,個畫面係上面....而開7.1 果時就覺得d 聲好似冇分上下,好鬼正 (係咪叫包圍感呢?)

唔好意思, 小第新手, 新屋正準備買set野睇得下聽得下

Pls be dun be fooled by some simulated effect like P-IIz. Realism & 分析力 is also very important. I can assure you 1019's 分析力 is much better than the 819 & 919. Hence, I will assume 1019's/ 1020's 分析力 will be better than 820 & 920. More simply, you will be able to hear more details from the 1019/ 1020.

Tom-Lee's demo should be Yamaha. i am not sure what u heard @ fortress. Assuming P-IIz is as good as Yamaha will not do you justice. U must have a fair ab test in order to really know what u r getting from each product.
