Agreed your points.  It really improve a lot on CD playback.

The new boards also change the sound of BD via HDMI.  I played the new Joey concert's BD last night.  The voice of the 1st song 一首獨唱的歌 is more sweet and more details sound can be heard now.   But the 2nd song 未知  has too much bass.  It don't have this issue before.   I have to lower the gain of my subwoofer.   Need further testing and adjustment of my setup.

My SE player arrived yesterday
Would like to ask Ching how you connect SE to (AV or Int, or both, like me)Amp.
I have AV Amp & Int Amp, using AV-bypass to front speakers. Now SE connects AV Amp by hdmi while connects Int Amp by Stereo Analog. Watching movie is not a problem. But, when playing CD, both hdmi and Stereo Analog have signal to AV Amp and Int Amp respectively.
Is there any way to limit the output of Stereo Analog only? I must switch off the AV Amp when playing CD. You know, the Stereo Analog output is better than AV Amp DAC.

Are you av amp pre-out to int amp?
if yes, when listening to music, just open the int amp only, that's all.

also there is a pure audio button on the remote of SE, you can use it...

Yes. 2ch output to 2ch amp. I dont have av amp.

I received my spare parts this Tuesday and upgraded mine in 10 minutes. Improvement in 2 channels, especially SACD, is remarkable. I am feeding it to Naim Nait 5i-2 and the music is much more dynamic and detailed.

Yes.... Oppo 83 SE is really good for both Blu-Ray movie and CD music......... DVD is also ok..... I use 876 + MA RX for CD music is very clear and detail.... , no complain....
