I saw Doris Day in an old black and white movie called "Young Man With A Horn". Such a beautiful woman.
When her third husband died, Doris Day found out he stole all of her money.....about US$20, 000,000 back in the early 1970s. She sued her husband's business manager and got 1/4 of her money back.
I remember in the mid 80s when Rock Hudson announced he has AIDS and how Doris Day came out to support her friend.
Doris Day always makes me think of a couple of things...... 1.) my mom when she was in her late 20s/early 30s when she was a big Doris Day fan and would play her music whenever she can, and 2.) the lines of "You take the grey skies out of my way (hoo, hoo) / You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day" from Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". Good times indeed. I choose to remember the good times rather than what happened to my mom (dementia) and George Michael.
It may be surprising, but both John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the Beatles were big fans of Doris Day. Paul has visited Doris Day in California several times.
Doris Day's last album, "My Heart", was released in 2011 and became a Top 10 album in the UK album chart. The songs were recorded in the 80s but weren't released until 2011. It's a very good album.
