C hing, I just bought a 500A water and installed this Friday. I thought it is a US version but the manual have traditional chinese to choose. The panel is made in Japan but the media box is made in Malaysia. I bought in SSP at $!(*)) with free wall mount and stand. So far touch wood no dead spot (maybe I cound not aware by my stupid eyes)
Yes I bought it in New Shing Tin as no more hong cound be found unless $#(*)) in TST Foretress.
To be honest, even so much c hing suggest not to buy water plasma here, I still choose 500a at the end since (1) the screen quality really win a street compare with P brand V10 after I have compared it in AVL, (2) the price is very attractive not need $20k for a 50' plasma, and (3) really no hong goods now.
You really need to prepare the TV will be total loss if it has any problem after 7 days even they said will provide 1 year maintainence. To myself, I didn't care too much on the black spot if it is not too much (a few black spot is normal). I have experience bought my last LCD TV and LCD monitor hong goods, I couldn't exchange it even they have dead spot. The most I care is the TV is a new one not yet open the box by anyone before (like return goods). I can bear the risk after install. My logic is that if it has been used over a year and a proble exist, even if you have maintainence you still need to pay some money to replace some parts to get it repaired, and most important the machine will no longer be so long lasting after repari, and then you will have a mind to change another one.......... just like upgrade or someelse.
This is all my personal opinion only, no hit head if you don't like. You may better go for a hong if you couldn't bear the risk..........but seeing a concert bluray is really amazing in a plasma, 500a is absorbly a valuable choice to me.
