Hi C-Hing, very agree with you on the bass feeling.... Tested U571 submarine movie on both Onkyo 607 & Pioneer... It is 2 totally different styles..
Just to share another setup experience in my TV room...
In my old set up (Onkyo 607 + Kef C series + SPL 800 ULTRA + old TV cabinet), I placed the subwoofer on the corner of the room (i.e. with 1 wall on the back and 1 wall on the side)... seems the over all bass feeling is a little bit weaker than placing the subwoofer directly in front of the sofa.... when placed directly in front of the sofa, I can feel the sofa + my butt shaking ... haha (p.s. not really fair comparison coz new sub-woofer is SPL 100 ULTRA, the output should be higher by default)
Yes C-Hing, you are right ar, cannot use 12" Velodyne Ultra series / SVS etc etc. If really want to change 12", must use sunfire 12" EQ series. It is the only 12" that will fit the cabinet.
Given the restriction of my tiny living room size & I want to use floor stand speakers, thus the subwoofer size needs to be scarifice in order to balance out other parts lei... Just trying to use up all the avl space on that TV wall... coz all other parts of the flat belongs to my bxss.... haha
