I received the sony VPL-360es at the beginning of October. After i tested this projector with a friend OS screen . I ordered a OS screen finally . I receive the OS screen at the beginning of Dec. After the first 50 hrs running. I can perform a preliminary calibration with the use of HCFR software. In this preliminary calibration , I use HCFR software to calibrate sony project to optimum for SDR video . In HDR video , i use a German team custom grama curve , which i upload it to sony projector to replace sony original grama curve for HDR . Thus, the capture of some HDR video in this post is mainly came for the use of German custom grama curve.
The testing parameter is as bellow
Projector : Sony VPL-VW360es
Screen : 80" OS wf302
Bluray player : Panasonic UB900
HDMI : rainbow fish 2.0 (15m long)
For SDR video
Mode : Reference
Grama setting on Projector : 2.45
Lamp : low
The following chart is the preliminary result of calibration by HCFR software ( Only for SDR video format) . After this preliminary calibration. Delta E can be within error 2 . But there are still some error on Green and Cyan even after advance colror management.
Remark : In HDR , i only upload a German team custom grama curve to sony projector in order to replace the original sony HDR grama curve. I do not perform any extra calibration on sony for HDR video. I hope i can perform 2nd calibration on HDR in future
