Report Part 1 (2009.12.15)
噚晚我自到部popcorn hour C200到O左,
用料好好, 全屬外殼, 外型靚靚仔仔
但因為太夜只係用internal HDD試O左一陣
試O左8-10套BDMV全部無問題,可以同Blu-ray Disk一樣出到main menu同pop-up menu
連好多機都攪唔掂嘅spiderman 2都順利播放
試過internal HDD行mkv file加外掛字幕唔見有問題,
network同interface方面未試清楚
以我所知 而經network睇mkv加srt就麻煩O的要用samba先support到
但我見beta firmware個list話MyiHome會support到set外掛字幕
不過差在反應有O的慢
BDMVO係main menu時有O的有聲有O的無聲
同唔可以好似TviX嘅隨時自己簡邊個外掛字幕到得(even放O係唔同folder都得)
今晚會再詳細O的試下, 遲下report同相一齊出'

BDMV內置字幕唔可以校位置
發現有樣好嚴重嘅bug,
1. BDMV O係 Main Menu同Trialer時無聲
2. 就係絶大部份環球嘅片都出唔到bitstream HD Audio, 會改為PCM輸出, 當中只有THE BOURNE IDENTITY可以出到HD Audio Bit-stream,
包括:
KING KONG
U571
WANTED
THE INCREDIBLE HULK
THE BOURNE SUPERMACY
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
THE MUMMY: TOMB OF DRAGON EMPEROR
其實部C200未到之前已經O係NTM forum見到有人問bit-stream嘅問題, 但當時無為意:

"It depends on what you mean by a Blu-ray rip.
If you rip the ENTIRE Blu-ray structure to disk, including menus etc, then DTS HD and TrueHD can almost always be bitstreamed. The exception seems to be where there is a PiP track in which case the C-200 will convert it to LPCM. This should be looked at starting now, the latest firmware did nothing for Blu-ray audio.
If you just copy the largest M2TS file and play the movie without menus etc, then DTS HD and TrueHD won't be bitstreamed; only DTS will be bitstreamed in the cast of DTS HD and nothing much will happen in the case of TrueHD. Not sure what the situation is with conversion to LPCM. This will also most definitely be looked at, but no improvement in the last firmware. "
"Sorry, PiP means Picture-in-Picture, also called Bonus View, which allows two (or more) video streams to be displayed on screen at once, eg the main movie filling the screen and some bloke in a corner telling you how they did that special effect or whatever. In order to hear audio from both the main movie and the special feature at the same time, you need to use LPCM as only one track can be bitstreamed at once and the player can't mix them together into anything but LPCM. Unfortunately, the C-200 can't mix them together anyway (at the moment), so it's switching to LPCM (at the moment) for no good reason. "
3. 當以PCM輸出時, 明明係5.1都會變成7.1, 但後中置又無聲喎
暫時部C200比我嘅感覺係差O左,
而係可能我用慣O左TviX
感覺上C200好多細微O野唔user friendly
攪到好多O野都好似唔太得心應手
而loading方面除O左開機比TviX快,
其他都比TviX慢
睇BDMV時TviX可以用"Menu"鍵直飛去BD Main Menu
但C-200要硬食晒O的warning 同 Trialer(個Trialer重要係無聲),
呢點真係似足Blu-ray Player
而TviX亦無BD region限制, even佢話你唔O岩區都好
只要一按"Menu"鍵, 又係直飛main menu
而C-200呢就會話我唔O岩region,
要我入去setting 改, 重要改得五次
另外resolution even 揀O左"Auto"都好
但佢係都要將佢set做你個display嘅resolution
如果好似我咁今次用1080P開機咁下次我用720P display時
佢會出唔到畫面
而network sharing 佢個software MyiHome亦無TviX嘅netshare咁簡單直接
而且現時用MyiHome share MKV係出唔到字幕, 要用Samba 先得
介面方面, 我鍾意玩Posters Wall, TviX 加 Moive Gui可以好簡單咁用手動自己做Movies Juke Box
而NMT最多人用嘅係YAMJ嚟做Movies Juke box, 佢個功能好強大, 好多資料, 係Movie Gui做唔到
但我就set O左成兩晚都未玩得掂(但HK好多人都識玩)
可以話用NMT係要求對電腦嘅知識要多O的, 而佢又O係HK無乜人用,所以好多時要去外國forum揾料
但如果玩得好, O係功能上(暫時)係O的大陸機唔可以比美
總結: 暫時嚟講, 如果你只係買嚟睇下戲, 而O的file多數係, mkv, bdmv, mov, avi, mp4, m2ts同ts,
鍾意儲原盤, 但又唔介意睇BDMV時有無BD main menu, 咁TviX M6500A真係最強嘅一部
佢真正suppoprt playlist唔只係揾最大個m2ts file嚟播,
睇無BD-J嘅BDMV出到同BD Menu, 睇演唱會揀歌無問題
可以玩movies juke box揀戲睇時成個posters wall
network睇mkv一O的問題都無

像爆米花C200這種使用一般PC用的BD ROM drive, 是採用TYPE C的KEY, 需每18個月更新一次.
大家購買前最好弄清楚, 免得多花很多錢買到的號稱藍光機只能播一年正版片就殘廢了.

還有某些AACS KEY是有時限性的,像爆米花C200每18個月韌體就要更新一次否則就不能看新出的藍光片.天知道那些山寨藍光機附的AACS KEY的有無時限或時限是多久. 如有時限但廠商不按時提供韌體更新(或廠商倒了),不用別人抓KEY就會自動失效了.
爆米花說他們會在C200停產後繼續提供C200 5年的韌體更新(如沒倒的話).也就是說停產5年後,C200也不能看正版藍光片了.

When the C-200 was first released at the end of August, Syabas admitted that the firmware wasn't quite 'there' yet, but that their commitment to progressing the firmware was not in doubt. This commitment hit a snag when it became apparent that the software development kit (SDK) from Sigma, the manufacturer of the excellent 8643 chipset at the heart of the C-200, was incomplete. This meant, to an extent (I don't know how much of an extent...), that Syabas' hands were tied, and that only certain firmware improvements would be possible until a new and more complete SDK was delivered. This new SDK was promised to Syabas a couple of weeks ago and, the last I heard, it was late.
My point being, Syabas have a proven track-record of getting their firmware bugs fixed. And once the new SDK is available, I would like to think that these audio problems will be solved ASAP. Because, frankly, they're a pain in my ass...

Yes, it's a known problem and often happens with Universal titles and some other titles where there is a picture-in-picture track. My theory is that the player is switching to PCM so it can mix th main audio together with the Bonus View audio, which unfortunately it doesn't then do!
Do you have a 7.1 setup and are any of your movies in 7.1? It would be very interesting to know whether in Analog/PCM mode the C-200 is sending out 7.1 channels (rather than 5.1 live channels and 2 empty channels). If in that mode you get sound out of all 7.1 speakers that would suggest that the C-200 is properly decoding the full HD audio information (since the legacy codecs only go to 5.1) and the problem is less severe...
It should definitely be fixable, but PCH/Syabas is waiting for a working new patch from Sigma; so it won't be fixed in the upcoming firmware but we're all hoping it will be ready in the one after that. |
