3. Light Insulator Pads
The simple and light insulators blocks exterior vibrations and for decoupling and isolation in a moderate environment which then maximizes vibration control performance. This enables the user to hear a more reproduction of what is actually coming out of the speakers.
4. High Efficiency Class-D - Chipset NXP
The amplifier chipset for the Cocktail Audio M50 is the TDA8920 - A high efficiency class-D audio power amplifier. The chipset has high-power switches, drivers, timing and handshaking between the power switches, along with better control logic. To ensure maximum system robustness an advanced protection strategy has been implemented to provide overvoltage, over-temperature and over-current.
It features a low quiescent current consumption on each channel but has a high power and low noise. Some of the features are:
Smooth pop noise-free start-up and switch off
Zero dead time switching
Fixed frequency & High efficiency
Internal or external clock
Fully short-circuit proof across load
Advanced protection strategy: voltage protection and output current limiting
DSD Input Support - 2.8MHz, 5.6MHz, 11.2MHz
Digital Input Level: CMOS
Others …
5. AK4490EQ - 120dB 768kHz/32-bit Premium DAC
The AKM - AK4490EQ is featured in many high quality D/A & devices from manufacturers like Marrantz, Onkyo, TEAC, Denon, Kenwood, Astel & Kern and others. The chipset is a new generation flagship 32-bit stereo premium DACs.
This technology uses low-distortion and focuses on thorough sound precision within its architecture which also incorporates high resolution digital filter processing. Digital input supports PCM inputs up to 768 kHz and DSD input of 2.8MHz/5.6MHz / maximum 11.2MHz the industry's highest level.
Internal circuit employs a newly developed 32bit digital filter for the sound quality.
The AK4490 range velvet sound architecture utilises:
Low-distortion technology at -112dB as a DAC with 120dB S/N characteristics.
OSRD (Over Sampling Ratio Doubler) tackles the reduction of out of band noise.
IRD (Impulse Response Designed) filters are integrated with 32-bit processing to reproduces detailed natural sound.
Maximum Sampling Frequency, Bit rate: PCM 768kHz/32-bit, DSD256 (11.2MHz)
SNR:120dB, THD+N: -112dB & Sound Colour Digital Filter: 5 types
The dynamic technology makes it compatible with devices across the audio & the media world from DACs to smart audio systems & network audio.
6. Bluetooth British CSR aptX Low Latency Decoding
The Cocktail Audio M50 supports aptX codec which offers high quality wireless playback via Bluetooth audio source. For CD-like quality audio playback, the M50 features the latest generation CSR aptX low latency decoding, which provides optimum time synchronization when playing back audio/video without any lip sync concerns.
Besides the high quality sound, the aptX® codec also offers an excellent error recovery function.
The M50 pairing mechanism is quick and easy via the Bluetooth button on the remote control or the volume knob.

7. USB Audio - Asynchronous & General Management
The USB input prevents digital noise and allows smooth high resolution audio playback. This port converts DSD files directly into analogue signals without the need to alter it to PCM. The port input enables access to asynchronous audio in a pure state from a music server, PC or other audio sources to playback high resolution audio of up to 32 bit - DSD 2.8 MHz, 5.6 MHz and 11.2 MHz.
The port type uses the USB XMOS XU208 interface that encompasses proven software libraries that allow better processing and interconnectivity, making it easier for devices to work seamlessly. The port (interface) features includes:
USB PHY, fully compliant with standardised specification
Multi-Core RISC Architecture which means higher performance, better memory management, xCore composition and much more….
The signals from the USB port are interfaced by a main chipset and then processed by the XMOS circuit USB Audio –this minimises jitter and works asynchronously.

8. Optical/SPDIF
The interface with the optical (SPDIF) is for other digital audio sources such as a CD/SACD, Blu-ray player, network server rippers and much more.
The optical digital input supports up to 24-bit/192-kHz Hi-Res digital audio.
Digital signals received at the SPDIF optical input is interfaced with the AKM - AK4490EQ at (24-bit 192 kHz).

9. LineIn & RCA Analogue
The M50 features an RCA & LineIn ports for connecting external analogue audio devices such as a CD player, Turn table, smart devices, cassettes decks and many more legacy analogue sources.
10. SGM4918 Range Capless Stereo Headphone Amplifier
The M50 is equipped with a dedicated headphone amplifier circuit and a front-panel 3.5mm (1/8 inch) headphone jack with a low distortion that provides proper matching of headphone impedance.
The 80mW to 100mW output headphone amplifier uses a -78dB power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) at 217Hz this allows the device to operate from noisy digital supplies without an additional linear regulator. An integrated “Click & Pop” into the circuitry means the elimination of audible clicks & pops on start-ups and shutdowns.
This also provides an excellent headphone performance with a moderately loud, clean & smooth sound.
There is no degradation of low frequency response due to the output capacitors, which means the M50 can drive a wider range of headphones with a responsive headphone listening surroundings with an untainted sound.
11. Auto Power Down Mode
The M50 will go into standby mode, if there is no signal from an input source and no operation is active for approximately 15 minutes.
Power consumption in standby mode is 0.5W or less.
