[size=1.1]The brand-new SR7011 AVR from Marantz ($2200) is a 9-amplifier, 11.2-channel processing flagship for the brand. It’s designed to decode hi-res audio and handle the latest video formats including UHD/4K with HDR. According to the company, it’s also diligent in its handling of stereo sound.

[size=1.1]Built-in features include Dolby Atmos with Dolby Surround upmixing, and DTS:X with Neural:X upmixing. Additionally, the company plans to offer a paid upgrade for Auro-3D. The SR7011 contains nine channels of 125-watt Marantz amplification, plus 11.2-channel processing and an equal number of preamp-outs. This allows the SR7011 to get maximal effect from immersive audio formats.

[size=1.1]The new AVR comes with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction for accurate sound. Eight HDMI inputs allow it to serve as the centerpiece of an elaborate home entertainment system. All eight HDMI inputs support HDCP 2.2 and 4KUltra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 color sub-sampling, HDR, and BT.2020 pass-through.

[size=1.1]Dual HDMI outputs can support both a TV and a projector, or you can take advantage of Zone 2 HDMI out, for multi-room audio and video from separate sources.
When it comes to music , the SR7011 offers Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. It’s capable of streaming music at resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit or 5.6 MHz DSD. The use of dual-band Wi-Fi ensures reliable connectivity to local computers, NAS, and streaming services such as Pandora, SiriusXM, Deezer, Amazon Music, TIDAL, and Spotify Connect. Additionally, you can use the SR7011 to listen to Internet radio.

[size=1.1]The SR7011 also includes Bluetooth and AirPlay, so you can stream directly fromsmart phones and tablets. Additionally, this new model is part of the first generation of Marantz products to include built-in HEOS technology, which means it can tap into all the content that’s available through the HEOS app. The SR7011 is expected to ship before the end of this month.

[size=1.1]Announced in concurrence with the SR7011 is the AV7703 AV Processor ($2200), an 11.2-channel device that features balanced XLR outputs. Feature-wise, it effectively mirrors the SR7011, except for the exclusion of the amplifiers. It also offers analog preamp capabilities, for listeners who wish to leave DSP out of the signal chain. Marantz suggests the AV7703 is a great choice for a dual-subwoofer system equipped with all active speakers. It will ship before the end of October.
