Pioneer: VSX-924K and BDP-170 DSD Playback (P.2 updated with photos)

Hi All,

I have made all the necessary settings (I believed) between the two and connect the two using HDMI (AQ Cinnamon), BDP-170 also set to use bitstream for HDMI audio.
However when I play a SACD, front panel of 924 always shows DSD->PCM. According to 924 feature description it should be able to do direct DSD (no PCM conversion), did I miss any settings that are required?

You may check the "SIGSEL" in Audio parameter menu.

Is it "Auto" or "HDMI"?

Just asked Pioneer technical support, they said surround mode has to be set at "Pure Direct" in order for this to work, will confirm once I checked.

Damn!

Would this be related to how the disc is encoded? might need to try download some DSD file to try again...

What about u？u ok？l try from original sacd, but still dsd ~>pcm

Haven't got a chance to try yet :(
How about set to pure direct BEFORE playback? Would that work?

點算，吾通 pioneer support 老點？ how about follow the advice from pkfleung and set SIGSEL to HDMI? Because my set is in 新屋 I can't try it yet :(

You may check with your HDMI set up first

1) Control mode = ON
1) Is PQLS enable?
