I just installed Ubuntu, any guide to install MPD?

I just tried to use the default music player to play some flac. Not that much of a difference compared to my Notebook (win7)


BTW, Do you have to install driver for WIFI?
I can't see wifi setting Ubuntu.

如果你部LIVA只用來聽歌, 就只須mpd, LMS,Samba,NFS和有線network 。不用裝或active 其他program 和wifi, 行多咗無須要既嘢只會降低音質, 而我就有其他用途和想試嘢先裝咁多嘢。Your're right, no wifi device would be detected since there is a bug for the Ubuntu.

You may try to install mpd:
1.Open terminal program and type the commands

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install mpd

If you want to use graphical interface to install program, I wouild recommend “synaptics package manager” for Linux program installation. Download and install it by visit the link below:
https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/synaptic/

Start the synaptics package manager and search “music player daemon” and mark it to be installed. Then click apply


Wifi configuration:
Some people would think that WiFi signal affect the music quality so you might not want to start the WiFi function. In fact only RJ45 is needed for connecting the network, such as internet and NAS.

mail2sampson ching, 請幫忙呀, 照你的CONFIG，但install SqueezeLite 時有以下問題:
1. /etc/init.d/squeezelite 中的OUTPUT什麼找呢?
2. 行 "sudo chkconfig –add squeezelite" 時, 找不到chkconfig
3. 行 "sudo /etc/init.d/squeezelite start" 時, 它說 "/opt/squeezelite/squeezelite" "no such file"
請問應該點做?萬分感謝!

唔好意思，好耐無上嚟76。
你試吓 check  咗個 usb dac 嗰 device
#aplay -l


I use Teac ud501 (Card 1, Device 0)

然後改  /etc/init.d/squeezelite



Reboot or restart logitechmediaserver and squeezelite , 試吓得唔得先

有時間試吓LMS, 我覺得好聲過MPD 。
用latencytop check 過，LMS latency 小過MPD, 唔知有無關係
還有，用 nfs 的latency 遠低過cifs
