I believe using granite is because of its high density, ie.- heavy mass, to damp the vibration.
I can understand there is no vibration pad between the speaker and the  ...

Ching, interesting!!! Your view is reasonable.
so far there is no other noise generated from the granite & the floor....
and the bass from subwoofer is faster than not using the granite...
I may have a try to add 3M bumpon first.....
But i think i wont use "nail" for the granite....

V nice. For center spkr, laying flat on the cupboard may affect the performance.

Thanks for your advice. Actually it is not laying flat, I have spongy for 2 front corner and 2 bumpon for 2 rear corner.
I plan to buy "nails" for it.... but the speaker will then be too high and shield some of the TV screen..... I cant find anything to raise my TV

ching, there r numerous ways to rise the TV; a piece of old wood, old tiles that's left over from renovations etc. There is no right or wrong in AV. Just better or worse. One needs to be creative. If u have a few minutes to spare, pls take a look @ my thread. I use al sorts of weird stuff to improve my setup:

Also, you need to leave some space b/w your front spkrs & your tv cabinet. This, too, will impact on the performance.

thanks for your kind advices. Actually last weekend i planned to take some IPO booklets to raise my TV, but I couldnt fight against those "C9", the last copy was taken by 1 C9 when i got into the bank......
For the floorstanding speakers, maybe my pic is not that clear, actually there is less than 1 inch space between cabinet & speakers, so they have no contact at all. so I guess there is no -ve effect, right?

I did read your post already, very admire you.... you can DIY pretty well

Mirage is ok to match with B&W so far, it provides very good surround for my rear.

Hmm, for the "power" issue, I think the hardest one to push is that 683, but bi-amp seems to be helping a lot in this case. I plan to have a test for my 683 on not using bi-amp this weekend and see how bad it will sound.

By the way, I remember you have not answered my question last time, how did you make your TV pic quality better if not using Nanotec 302 PC? Use Cryo fuse?

最近由 BD-60 換左其他 BDP 機 !   <~~   (新玩具 ，當然要自我興奮一下啦 ) !
另外將電視改左插落 HTS-1000 拖板 ，拖板再插落 冷凍牆蘇 !
同埋 ... 宜家每次都會落埋D   遮光布窗薕先睇戲 !
仲要自己一個坐係SOFA !

咁好既環境 ， 睇得好開心好 enjoy !

Great idea! My "high hand" friend used to use the Yellow Pages phone book for his audio setup!

1 inch isn't enough la... pls look at the "high hands", space is very important for audio performance.
