Coming on the 9th anniversary of Pink Floyd's reunion performance at Live8.

No confirmation of an upcoming album from the band yet (is there still a band left?), but Pink Floyd's management will be making an announcement on Monday.

So the news today is that David Gilmour has officially confirmed that there will be a new Pink Floyd album coming in October. The album started as a side project when "Division Bell", the last PF studio album, was recorded 20 years ago. It will be mostly an instrumental album, but at least one song will have David Gilmour on lead vocal. All 3 members, including the late Richard Wright, performed on the new album. Let's hope there will be a SACD version.
