While fans are waiting for more "Avengers 2" details, new rumors indicate that Drax will star in "Avengers 3."

According to Cinema Blend, a wrestling website called PW Mania reported that Dave Bautista and his people are working behind closed door with Marvel to "restructure" his contract after all the success he got from playing Drax The Destroyer in "Guardians of the Galaxy."

While "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is part of the conversation, a source said that Bautista maybe also lined up for an appearance as Drax in "Avengers 3."

Cinema Blend speculated that since word around town is that "Avengers 3" will follow the "Infinity Gauntlet" storyline from the comic books, "Drax not only plays an important role in this plot in the comics, but eventually - in an arc called 'Annihilation' - winds up actually killing Thanos. As the new report suggests, it's not hard to see how he may have a 'significant' part to play in the future of the Cinematic Universe, so it's in Marvel's best interest to keep Bautista around."

He confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that "GOTG" is "definitely connected to Avengers 3."

Back in 2013, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dished that Thanos turning around at the end of the first "Avengers" movie wasn't for nothing.

"Joss' decision to have Thanos turn around, smile to the audience at the end of 'Avengers', it was always the plan to show that the Tesseract was indeed an infinity stone," Feige told Screenrant. "A lot of that will tie first into 'Guardians of The Galaxy' which comes out next year and then where it goes from there we'll see."
