If 2., then upgrade the Volume+display unit is okay.

If 1., I suggest save the upgrade money.

I already have Accuphase E460 integrated amp as pre-amp, so it will be 1.  

Yeah, maybe I should save the upgrade money.  

I am just hoping that MSB Analog DAC will sound better than Cambridge Audio Stream Magic.

No, but I will audition it before I buy.  But I am not sure if auditions can tell much, though, because all the equipment is different - speakers, amp, cables.  The difference in sound quality can be attributed to so many different factors.  Having said that, I will definitely try it out before I pay that kind of price.  No harm, I guess.  

Do you think MSB Analog DAC is better, or should I buy Linn Akurate DS?  The majority opinion so far is that the former is better.  What do you think?

I "FEEL" ( Just I feel) young ppl like HD sound more,  over 35 ppl like musical sound, relax sound more... (Once again, just I feel, Don't hit me!!)  So if u like HD sound more, go ahead to MSB.

and

One more suggestion for u, Lumin Player.  I had listen before in my home.  The sound also good, HD sound, clean, and can play DSD files.
This aound $3xK, then u can buy a 4bay NAS, CAT7 LAN cable and a pair of RCA...

haha last year i like HD sound but this year I like musical sound
I am just 2x

I think the truth is when you become older, you will like something more musical and comfortable...
