Just borrowed another headphone amp (as well as the balanced cable) for comparison. Unfortunately, I forgot that my cheap Lite DAC does not have XLR output and I have no adaptor either!!

After tens of hours's listening, 火凤凰高端耳放 is best for DT990, but no good for HD650.

Even though it makes the volcal of HD650 more appealing, the overall tonality and "musicality" is lost when going back to classical music. HD650 is so demanding on the amp. Lehmann is much better with HD650. But since it is using switching power, it should be able to be pushed up to another level when linear PSU is used.

However, judging from DT990 alone,  火凤凰高端耳放 works even better than the Lehmann Audio, which is both a surprise to my friend and me. Mix and Match is always a tricky issue in HiFi world and higher price devices do not always win.

In order to reveal the potential of 火凤凰高端耳放, I just bought a new cheap DAC from the same shop. The hum noise from my Lite DAC becomes worse these days. It is time for it to retire after some 8 years' working.

Lehmann是深海的官配展示用AMP之一，和650是有神奇的化學作用，夾其他機總有種太厚或音色不太對的感覺
火凤凰配dt990這點令人在意，990我覺得蠻難夾到amp，因為990推不好時高音會刺，聲音會比較薄，這部平價的火凤凰玩到990真係好吸引!

You are so right about both the 2 headphones and HPAs.

Since my friend's Lehmann just uses switching power, there is still large room for improvement by using linear power supply. In fact, my friend is going to buy one and let us have a test some weeks later.

火凤凰高端耳放 exactly complements the analytical character of DT990 which is easy to sound bring and thin, so the fine texture and sound layers of the instrument can't be revealed and the whole atmosphere is lost . That is why, in the past,  I didn't like using DT990 to listen to Symphonies, especially when involving cello/double bass and horns, like in Beethoven's Sixth symophony and Tchaikovsky's fourth. And I will switch back to HD650. But now with 火凤凰高端耳放, those weaknesses are gone. So I listen to DT990 most of the time now.


My 火凤凰高端耳放 (高配置) is using 金封LME49720HA运放 and 英国原装Talema变压器. I am not sure whether its opamp could be upgraded to MUSES01. If so, its sound could be further improved.

Just bought a DAC using AK4399 with XMOS USB input to replace my old Lite DAC72. Even for the first few hours, the sound from the new DAC is so refreshing, way much better than my Lite DAC.
