I understand you want a better image， else why will you put so much effort in modifying the power-bar. Your bdp is using this power-bar but not your tv... As you have tested， filtered power-bar can filter out noised from the power lines so u got a better contrast and details from your bdp. But what happens to the audio quality？ And why will you still plug your tv directly into the wall socket where most electrical noises comes into your system？
As you go along with your DIY projects， you will learn more. For example， using low end filtrred power bars has its upside and downsides. You need to know what these are. Let me give you a hint of the downside， I only use filtered power-bars for my tv and projector but not never for bdp.
