Hear more your music live - Pop Concert , Jazz, Classical , Cinema whatever you do. Then you buy HiFi / AV to meet ( almost ) the same result. Then sit down and enjoy.
We may call it sound stage when you talk about making the loudspeakers disappear. The more you hear Live music, you will tell the difference between at home and Live. Then go for it - upgrade your loudspeakers ( and / or other components as well ).
