Do i need to use a new computer without any program running in the backgroup to rip the CD. I have a old desktop and i plan to change the DVD Rom only to rip the file and then use the new notebook with SSD for storage and song transport.
At the same time, any difference between USB DVD rom and cable DVD rom in ripping CD. For convenince , i will buy a USB DVD rom which is convenient for both my desktop and notebook?
As stated by 樓上師兄, you can use your existing PC for ripping. You don't have to tame the background processes unless there are huge amount of I/O taking places (e.g. ftp/web/file server). Anyway, I will close all other applications and run EAC along with a browser - for searching disc info & cover image between each ripping session.
Regarding disc drive, I prefer internal drive rather than external drive (especially avoid slim drives, they tend to break inner edge of CD). Personally I am using a Pioneer BDR-S06XLB drive which is so much more quiet than the drives I used before.
If i have one notebook but want to rip the CD, any difference between the USB DVD rom or SATA internal DVD rom ? It is convenient for me to use external USB DVD rom
