Some more information for you. HT BYPASS = AV by pass function
When HT BYPASS Mode Active USP-1 become pass-through Left , right channel and allowing the external processor to control Volume.

For music connection as follow:
CDP or Notebook + DAC --> USP-1 ---> XPA-2

HT = Home Theater
