I am sorry to hear about your problem with the Wireworld Platinum USB cable.
The Wireworld Platinum Starlight USB cable is a very popular on the Future Shop website. We have supplied large numbers of the cable to many customers. I am pleased to confirm that to date, we have not had any previously reported problems regarding scratches or dust on the cable. Furthermore, I have checked our records carefully, and can also confirm Future Shop has not received any Platinum USB cables from customers as returns.
Usually, each cable is individually checked and assigned a serial number at the Wireworld factory before it is shipped. We are therefore at a loss to explain why you have received the cable in the condition you describe.
Moving forward we can offer you a replacement cable or a £50 discount on the current cable with a refund onto your payment card. Please let me know which option you would like to take.

I guess scratching should not affect the quality at all. I will take 50 Euro discount if I were you.
As it is quite trouble for you to return by courier and wait for another one, they won't send you a new one before receiving the return.

I totally understand your feeling. If you have another USB cable available, it is sure you could ask for more. But it depends the future shop care the reputation or not, as I have no idea abuot future shop company.
Actually did you try it already? One very important factor beside the feeling is the actual quality of sound. If it does not meet your need, why don't you simply return it and refund.
