I upgraded from 05FD to 83.83 wins 05FD in all aspects, include video, audio and operations.   Don't expect too much on 83 for its CD playback.The sound is cold and no feeling (05FD is also bad in CD playback).   Oppo 83 SE is a must upgrade for CD / SACD playback.   Worth every penny.
