如果價錢相差很少，當然是買7200轉啦，否則買5400轉作為放DATA用是OK的。不過，用來播FILE時會不順暢又另計。

WD 1T 5400rpm vs WD 500GB 7200rpm vs ST 750GB 7200rpm.
There isn't that much of different between 5400 and 7200rpm.The most noticeable is the random access time.The 7200 is about 2ms faster. {:6_152:}

WD 1T 5400rpm
WD 500GB 7200rpm
ST 750GB 7200rpm

For today's media, there will not be any lag for playing an HD movie.A blu-ray's maxium transfer rate is 54 Mbit/s = 6.75MB/s, while the slowest HDD above can transfer >60MB/s.Even USB 2.0 in average home PC has a max transfer rate at 30MB/s.

No, you don’t need a 7200rpm HDD for movie backup.
From the data I obtained from the previous post.A ST 750GB 7200rpm HDD has an average read of 66.4MB/s, and a WD 1T 5400rpm HDD has an average read of 62.9MB/s.Let’s say you need to transfer a 50GB file.On the ST HDD, it will take 12.55 min.On the slower WD HDD, it will take 13.25 min.The 7200rpm ST HDD is faster than the 5400rpm WD HDD for only 0.7 min.{:6_131:}
If anyone willing to pay extra $$$ for 0.7 min faster when transferring a large file, it is that person's call.{:6_146:}
可能大家未對個速度有幾多分別而煩悶,下一次我再開post把他們的速度用程式列出就一清二楚了~~
如上面的朋友用了一隻較舊的型號來試~可能不是最全面,因為我冇記錯7200轉至少平均寫入70m以上,下次再列出比大家看
至於是否一定要用7200,我都說了,日立的7200每g等同wd/s05x00每g時~對我來說,我會買較快的風扇而不是天生較慢的,其實wd都有7200轉的~1tb的價錢已等同1.5tb的5400轉,足足差了500g容量~當然應該仲有其實更專業的分野但小弟不才不想誤人小弟~~
最後~~大家留意下,wd個包裝同硬碟面係找唔到轉數(可能我睇漏了)~連電腦雜誌都誤認為7200轉來誤導人...係要大家上佢官網先知.....5400
至於我對wd的存在價值來看~其實不否定的~不過對其以green系列來隱瞞效能低及不清楚列明轉數時(坦白講我初初傻傻地以為7200轉可以唔熱先去買了2隻),有點後悔買了...亦因為咁而要買另一隻7200做電腦os安裝
平均都成100m~所以比6xm的wd你話呢~~
