My samsung LCD TV runs perfectly for two years.(touch wood)! I bought that on special discount coz at that time it's an old model already...Strangely I got friends who bought the LCD TV had no complain at all. On the contrary I got friends comlaining Panasonic Plasma so I think it just the number of post that had been reported in here created an implied statistics figures which may not truly reflect the situation.
Just wonder the truthfulness of the complains in here....

Who could think of a TOYOTA car may turn up a total recall due to such failure on brakes?
Anyway I totally agree that warranty is one of an important factor to consider befor purchase.
I haven't this problem!!! I use 550 two years, no problem, but I check the code, the panel is 韓國, not taiwan!!!
我有Samsung & Philips用了3年幾，Samsung冇問題,反而Philips因開唔到機要修理,我想樓主係個別事件,希望樓主的電視早日康復
