it is a compromise and perception issue.
mostly depends on whether you value your hobby higher or your family.
20 something years ago when my half brother was still a few years old kid, he pushed and flipped the speaker from the stand and almost hit him, pressed all buttons from the vcr and cd player..... beat the shit out of him? surely not.teach him not to do it?he didn't do it on purpose (to damage them), and he was so young to understand..... compromise? yes, packed them all under my bed.

我覺得首先樓主係屋企的地位有幾高，有無話事權，其次要經常自己清潔好hifi範圍，俾家人覺得你好緊張d器材，個人要保持好收拾的習慣，唔好隨處放雜物，咁大家都會養成好習慣，同埋要知道家人喜好，有無可能用套器材令大家開心，等佢地都認同器材的重要性
