YES, totally agreed
If don't have the old version of 2003 SACD, then buy the new 2014 one to see if you can hear the difference from the real DSD / SACD format (of course I mean SACD layer)
If owned the old 2003 SACD, I think it is waste of space to store another MSG-remastered SACD (I am speaking of sound quality instead of collector point of view)
I bought the new Samantha Lam, compared to the 2003 version:
the 2014 new one sound output level is louder than 2003 old version, but the sound feeling is not as solid as the old one, don't feel so much dynamic range, kind of just loud without the highest and lowest sound difference, unwanted noise are also louder too
honestly I feel the older version sounds warmer, clarity is clear and stronger, while the new version makes my hearing a bit tired, perhaps the sound output level is too loud, sound picture is a bit thin (not solid) and sharp-hard plus some noises

another difference: 2014 is HYBRID dual SACD + CD layer (EU-pressing) , 2003 is single SACD + another CD (USA-pressing)

Luckily I owned the BMG-era edition of these 2 SACD, so I can save $ and no need to buy the new 2014 version

其實唱片公司當年推出舊款SACD與今時今日再翻推新款的動機大有不同, 當年是以推廣新SACD制式掛帥; 每個製作步驟不拘小節樣樣做足十成功力, 以完美產品為終極目標來吸引樂迷轉用新制式; 成本可放在較後層次. 但現在再翻推SACD是以商業利益為依歸, 成本要控制好銷量亦要高, 為賺取最豐厚的利潤; 品質相對放在較後層次.
所以舊款SACD KO 新款是必然的事.

I agree with your opinion.However, if the new SACD version is not of high sound quality, then that will kill off any chance of people buying later releases.Let's hope HK Sony can still provide good SACD sound quality with later releases.
