Should we test using the sound meter mic. facing ceiling like what we did in the Audyssey setup mic?

I am not too sure.
but i did try facing towards front wall and ceiling just to compare the two and find the one matches my ears/ listening area.

Some c hing said surround db should be more than 75db, so at the testing, i used 80db
however i found it more comfortable for the surround speakers set at 78db.

the data of av amp auto setup include the EQ factors & some of the room measurements, so the result is diff from the sound meter...
IMHO, the adjustment according to the sound meter is more easy listening & neutral than the auto setup{:1_345:}
