what does it mean? wally ching. are you using ipad remote software for j river media no, I haven't got the app yet, but will be do that later.
Host should be the IP address of your PC.
Port should be depends on what you set in the Media Center.
After that, on your PC firewall, you need to release that Port so that your firewall won't block that port from communicating outside, ie your iPad. ha ha, can't believe I'm so good to you.
I've just purchased the app. And actually its pretty straight forward, everything is exactly the same as I expected.
The default port that J River is using is 52199 (double check from your MediaNetwork setting > Advanced > TCP Port)
Then release it from your firewall, in my example:
Then get your PC's IP address, punch that to your "Host" box
Port = 52199, if you didn't change it.
then off you go. Quite cool.
Just 1 problem I have with this app right now is I don't know how to play the whole album... many thanks wally ching. Let me follow.your step to configure. By the way. ipad remote for itunes is more easy to set up and the app is free. ha ha, can't believe I'm so good to you.

Wally Ching, sorry to bother you again as I am not quite expertise in computer set-up. Are you using window 7? I try to follow your step as per your screen capture but cant find out the set up page of your screen. Can you tell me where I can locate in the control panel? many thx! iTune is simple, if it works {:6_134:}, if it doesn't, then you won't have any idea on how to fix that.
By the way, my screen shot is just my firewall on the setup. Depends on which firewall you're using on the Win7. If you didn't install any antivirus & firewall at all, the default one should recongise your JRiver on Win7 try to access a new port and whether you would like to allow it or not. If it ask you for that, then you should allow it pass through, otherwise, your iPad won't be able to communicate with the PC. by the way, iTune doesn't sound as good as JRiver ma... by the way, iTune doesn't sound as good as JRiver ma...

Yes. the sound of itunes is not as good as JRiver, just the remote control for itunes is much easy to link up with the itunes desktop. Since I had also purchased the Ipad app, I just want to see how it can work. thx!
