I am a beginner and planing to pick an AV Amp.
My usage is 50% movie and 50% music.
I've been shopping around.
I love the 3D DSP of Yamaha 2067 which is great for movie.
But I love the music performance of Marantz SR7005.
How should I pick?
I also heard from others that I should pick my AV amp for movie and improve the 2-channel quality by :
1. adding a DAC or stero pre-amp
2. or, adding a power amp
Would either one of the above method or other method can improve the music quality of 2067?
Yamaha 2067 's music performance not bad at all....
just depends on the equipment....
一般來講近期既中高階AMP 可以做到影音並全(只要要求不太苛刻)
其實靚AMP 都要配靚喇叭，咁樣效果先會突出。(但係荷包就肝硬化 )
另外無論睇戲或聽歌...個SOURCE 都係好緊要....我試過就咁播MP3 同播SACD...同一首歌
出來既效果係2 個世界既事

Actually I tried 2067 in Tom Lee with their floor stand speakers.
I like the DSP 3D effect, however the Music performance is not as good as Marantz.
To be fare, I haven't tried the movie performance on the SR7005. Would you please advise where I can try it out?
I've been shopping around and initially I'm targeting the below speakers mix:
Front Speakers : B&W cm7 or cm8
Centre Speaker : B&W CMC
Front High : Mirage OS3
Surround Speaker : Mirage OS3
Woofer : Sunfire 10"
Would this speaker mix matches with 2067 or 7005?
Moreover, would 2-channel quality be improved by adding:
- DAC ?
- or power amp?
